MARIANNA — Chipola’s offensive firepower was overwhelming as the Indians swept Gulf Coast 11-8, 10-3 on Saturday in Panhandle Conference baseball.

The first-place Indians improved to 13-3, 32-7 overall by winning the final three games in a four-game series with the Commodores. Gulf Coast is 26-11, 4-8.

Gulf Coast led briefly in the second game at 2-0 and 3-2, but once Chipola knocked out starter Alec Wisely the Indians had their way with Gulf Coast’s bullpen, something few teams have accomplished this spring.

Greg Loukinen, who had picked up the win out of the bullpen against Chipola on Tuesday, this time was hit hard for seven hits and seven runs in taking the loss.

Trey Dawson homered for Chipola and Andrew Bechtold, Reynaldo Rivera and Brody Wofford all had two RBIs.

Robbie Knox was the second of three Chipola pitchers and earned the win. Jacquez Koonce had a single and solo homer for the Commodores and Josh Nowak had two hits and an RBI.

Trever Kilcrease took the loss in Game 1 in a rare start. The Commodores had rallied within 5-4 with two runs in the top of the fourth inning when the Indians took complete control with six runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Kilcrease walked the first two batters and Ken Adair relieved and walked the bases loaded. Wofford had a run-scoring single, two runs scored on an error by second baseman Jackson Webb, Dawson had an RBI double, Edmond Americaan a sacrifice fly and Jacob Silverstein an RBI single as the Indians scored six runs on only four hits.

Gulf Coast had singles by Koonce and Webb, an RBI double by Carnegy Calzado and a two-run double by Alec Aleywine during a four-run seventh inning against reliever Kevin Craft.

Andrew Grogan came on and allowed an RBI single by Jordan Tylski, but struck out the side to clinch the win.

Webb, Aleywine and Tylski each had two hits for the Commodores and Aleywine, Tylski and Jeff Omohundro had two RBIs each. Dawson, Americaan, Silverstein and Jose Caballero each had two hits for the Indians and Americaan, Silverstein,

Te’kwaan Whyte and Bechtold each had two RBIs.

Ryan Shauger pitched into the sixth inning to get the win for Chipola.

Gulf Coast begins a four-game series at Pensacola 5 p.m. Tuesday.
