PANAMA CITY - Gulf Coast scored six runs in the third inning and Austin Krzeminski continued the Commodores' run of outstanding pitching in an 8-0 victory over Gordon on Friday in junior college baseball at Bill Frazier Field.

The Commodores, 5-0, also got a grand-slam home run from sophomore Carnegy Calzado in the third-inning uprising. They scored single runs in the sixth and seventh to end the game by the mercy rule.

Krzeminski was dominant in his second start for Gulf Coast allowing three hits in six innings and striking out 10.

"He was in total command," Gulf Coast coach Mike Kandler said. "He threw a lot of strikes. A really good performance."

Jackson Cullen pitched a scoreless seventh while overcoming two walks.

The Commodores managed only eight hits, but they were spread among eight players. Alec Wisely drove in two runs, Jacquez Koonce had a double and scored two runs, Ryan Bland had a triple and Alec Aleywine and Jeffrey Omohundro added runs batted in.

"It was a solid win, we were good in all three aspects," Kandler said.

Gulf Coast hosts L.B. Wallace today at 4 p.m.
