Wisely’s arm, Johnson’s bat come up big for Commodores

PALATKA — Gulf Coast pitcher Brett Wisely struck out 14 batters, allowed only three hits, and pitched a complete game to give the Commodores (3-4) a 6-0 win over Broward on Friday.

Evan Johnson finished the game with three hits in five plate appearances, including a home run, to finish with four RBI and two runs scored.

Alex Lozado also had two hits for Gulf Coast, with Wisely going 1 for 3 with two runs, and Stevie Moffatt 1 for 5 with one run.

Jordan Henshaw walked twice and scored a run, while Justin Kelley added an RBI.

Gulf Coast will play again in Palatka on Saturday against Florence-Darlington Tech.
