GC men knock off Albany Tech 87-76

PANAMA CITY — The Gulf Coast men’s basketball team made it two wins in a row Friday afternoon at the Billy Harrison Field House, knocking off Albany Tech 87-76 on the first day of the Gulf Coast Thanksgiving Classic.


The Commodores (6-2) had lost their home opener 82-81 to L.B. Wallace on Nov. 15, but a big-time performance from sophomore star Jeremy Harris helped to level their record in the Field House on Friday.


Harris had 30 points on 12 of 20 shooting, including 4 of 7 from the 3-point line, and added five rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots. Will Robinson also added 14 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while Dyshane Murphy had 10 points and a team-high nine assists.


Londell King had 10 points and five rebounds, with Tyler Byrd scoring nine points, and Ricquail Smoot eight.


Gulf Coast will next host Central Georgia Tech today at 2 p.m.
