Gulf Coast men earn first victory

PENSACOLA — The Gulf Coast men’s basketball team earned its first victory of the season Saturday evening at Pensacola State College, routing Action Sports Academy 104-50.

 

The Commodores evened their record at 1-1 after losing their season opener against Coastal Alabama-Bay Minette on Friday. Cameron Holden led Gulf Coast on Saturday with 24 points, while Daniel Kiely added 19 points and nine assists.

 

KK Godwin scored 13 points and Maurice Gordon had 12 points. Jacolbey Owens contributed a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists. Shawn Jackson led Action Sports Academy with 14 points.

 

Gulf Coast will next head to Barnesville, Ga., Friday and Saturday to take on Southern Crescent Tech and Gordon State.
