Gulf Coast smashes Monroe College, 111-67

PANAMA CITY — Gulf Coast took its second straight lopsided victory at the Visit Panama City Beach Men’s Basketball Classic on Tuesday.

A day after beating East Georgia State 124-59 on Monday, the Commodores routed Monroe College 111-67 to improve to 12-3 on the season.

Cam Holden scored a game-high 35 points to lead the Commodores, while Jammy Pierre-Louis added 16 points, and Jacolbey Owens 15 points.

Grant Howard scored 12 points and Travon Mayo 11 points. Gulf Coast made 17 3-pointers as a team led by Holden’s six. Pierre-Louis also knocked in four from long distance.

The game wraps up Gulf Coast’s pre-conference schedule. The Commodores will open play in the Panhandle Conference on Saturday with a trip to Niceville to take on Northwest Florida State.
