Lady Commodores cruise to 10th straight win

PANAMA CITY — The Gulf Coast women’s basketball team kept their unbeaten streak to start the season intact with an easy 90-45 win over Arkansas Baptist on Friday night in the Visit Panama City Beach Classic at the Billy Harrison Field House.

 

Kionna Jeter led the top-ranked Lady Commodores (10-0) with 27 points, followed by Alexus Dye and Shayla Bennett with 15 points each. Jhileiya Dunlap added 13 points. Janesha Green scored seven. Khiandra Perry was the only Arkansas Baptist player in double figures with 10.

 

Gulf Coast wasted little time seizing control of the game, outscoring Arkansas Baptist 28-9 in the first quarter and building the lead to 30 points at halftime. The Lady Commodores play their final game in the Visit Panama City Beach Classic Saturday at 2 p.m. against Bossier Parish.
