Smith driving into lane

The #1 Lady Commodores fought a great battle to earn the first Confernece game over #16 Pensacola State College on Saturday, January 7th 55-48.  The Lady Priates ended the first quarter 20-18, GC pulled ahead of the Lady Pirates by three in the second quarter (29-26).  In the third quarter, the Lady Pirates once again took the lead after the half 43-41, the Lady 'Dores only allowed PSC to score 5 points in the fourth quarter to finish the game 55-48.

Imani Smith led the team with 15pts | 7rebs | 2 steals | 2 blocks, Ciante Downs had 12pts | 4 assists | 4rebs | 10-14 free-throws, Alieghya Bartholomew 9pts | 5rebs | 4 assists | 3-5 free-throws | 2 steals, and Abbey Cracknell 9pts | 6rebs | 3-6 free-throws

The team will travel to Marianna, FL on Saturday, January 14th for their first meeting vs. Chipola College.  Game time is set for 2pm.
