Men's basketball program jumps two spots to 4th
In the latest NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball rankings released today, the Commodores moved up two spots to #4 in the nation as they head into conference play.
Gulf Coast State enters the conference season averaging 88.8 points per game while shooting 68.5 percent from the free-throw line. The Commodores are also averaging 41.8 rebounds and 17.0 assists per game. The Commodores are led by sophomore guard Trent Lincoln, who is currently ranked second nationally in assists with 118 and ranks 10th in scoring with an impressive 354 points on the season. Freshman Iyran Francis has also made a significant impact, ranking first nationally in offensive rebounds with 87, fifth in total rebounds with 161, and shooting 66.4 percent from the field.
The #4 Commodores face off with #13 Chipola College on Wednesday, January 14th at 7:30pm in the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse.
