Men's Basketball move into top three in the nation
The GC men's basketball team moved up to #3 in the nation after an impressive 87–59 victory over #13 Chipola College this past Saturday in Marianna, Fla.
As a team, the Commodores are averaging 86.4 points per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 68.5 percent from the free-throw line. Gulf Coast State is also pulling down 41.4 rebounds per game and averaging 16.7 assists per contest.
Against Chipola, Trent Lincoln delivered a standout performance, earning a season-high 39 points while shooting 57.9 percent from the field, 58.3 percent from three-point range, and 90.9 percent at the free-throw line. He also added four assists and two steals. Devontes Cobbs followed with 15 points, while Iyran Francis led the team on the glass with nine rebounds.
The #3 Commodores (20–3) return home to host the #8 Tallahassee State Eagles (21–3) on Wednesday, February 4, with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. at the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse.
